Artist Statement

After a 45+ year career in architecture retirement has allowed me to explore artistic endeavors.  Soft pigment pastel and oil have become mediums of choice.

Landscapes, unique weather patterns, and old structures are subjects of interest.  While much of my work has a more realistic character I am leaning more into impressionist expressions. Everyday ordinary scenes that might otherwise pass us by inspire me. Capturing that “moment in time” or that “sense of place” has become a primary focus.

At this chapter in life, I continue to be filled with a sense of wonder in the world around me. Art provides a unique and creative way to share the journey.
